Functions
Among other things, the EIDO steering committee is responsible for the following functions:
- Draft and propose the school's internal regulations, which will be approved by the Governing Council of the University of Vigo.
- Propose amendments to the University of Vigo's doctoral studies regulations.
- Establish the procedure for renewing the academic committees of the doctoral programmes affiliated with the school.
- Determine the procedure and requirements for requesting the implementation of new doctoral programmes or modifying existing ones.
- Inform and propose to the Governing Council proposals for new doctoral programmes to be integrated into the school, as well as proposals for the modification and temporary or permanent suspension of these programmes.
- Plan and approve specific and cross-disciplinary training activities for doctoral programmes, in coordination with the academic committees of these programmes.
- Establish supervision and control procedures to ensure the quality of doctoral students' training and doctoral theses
- Determine the procedures for submitting, evaluating, defending and grading theses in doctoral programmes affiliated with the school
- Propose the procedure for awarding special doctoral honours
- Establish procedures for monitoring doctoral graduates from doctoral programmes.
- Any other doctoral-related responsibilities entrusted to it by the Governing Council and current legal provisions.
